Understanding the theme about indigenous health requires understanding preliminary aspects
of how the health system in Brazil is structured, its characteristics, what treatment is given to
health in the Federal Constitution of 1988 and how this public health policy is implemented in
the country. at the local level, that is, with indigenous populations. In this work, we used a
bibliographic survey, in a methodological procedure of an exploratory, descriptive research,
with a qualitative approach. The general objective of the study is to understand the advances
and challenges of indigenous health care policies in Santarém/PA, through the work of the Local
Council of Indigenous Health (CLSI), in the period from 2022 to 2023. Indigenous participation
must be present in all stages of planning, implementation and operation of DSEIs, covering
both formal and informal expressions. In order to carry out the supervision, control and
evaluation of health services in the villages, for such action there are the Local Councils of
Indigenous Health (CLSI) which are permanent, consultative and composed only of indigenous
people. From the above, it is concluded that the CLSI is considered a space for exercising
indigenous decision-making power. In its entirety, it is observed that the structure provided to
carry out CLSI's work is insufficient, and there is no dialogue between the municipal
governments that neglects requests for the removal of indigenous patients
