Efeitos da hidrodinâmica sobre a comunidade fitoplanctônica e grupos funcionais no Lago Grande do Curuai, PA
Resumo
The present study evaluated the structure of the phytoplankton community in Lago Grande de
Curuai in different phases of a hydrological cycle, using different approaches: Taxonomic
Classes, Functional Groups (GFs) and Functional Groups Based on morphology (GBFM), in
Grande de Curuai, PA, in a hydrological cycle. The collections were performed monthly in a
period of one year, in three sampling stations. The phytoplankton was quantified by the
sedimentation method and the biovolume was measured by the specific geometric form
method. A total of 101 taxa registered in the Great Lake of Curuai, distributed in eight major
taxonomic categories: Chlorophyceae (31 taxa), Cyanobacteria (27 taxa), Bacillariophyceae
(17 taxa), Coscinodiscophyceae (7 taxa), Zygnemaphyceae (7 taxa), Euglenophyceae (4 taxa),
Dinophyceae (4 taxa), Cryptophyceae (3 taxa) and Synurophyceae (1 taxa). The 32
descriptive species (5% of total biomass) in relation to hydroperiods were categorized into 14
Functional Groups (K; H1; M; S1; L0; X2; Y; C; P; MP; A; W1; W2 and J ) and members of
5 Functional Groups Based on Morphology (MBFG): III, IV, V, VI and VII and 14
Functional Groups. The GFBM classification is a useful tool in the evaluation of ecological
standards with robust ability to express the temporal dynamics of phytoplankton structure in
this lake of várzeas.
