This article is a study ofspecific group of sciences students within a federal brazilian university,
this group is constituted for university students and high school students and regardless of
degrees, the article seeks to investigate the nature of this group, if it fits as a learning
community. It was through the collection of narratives from its participants and images, which
tell the history of the group, that we sought to discover, whether the members, which total 15,
all college and high school students, are indeed a learning community. Through this participants
that the article identified the characteristics of a true learning community and concluding that
the community goes further in its existence, resulting in positives elements for the community
and progress of its participants in their respective courses and group, or attracting members to
the areas of study that occur in their meetings and giving them a path to broad learning in their
respective social environments, inside and outside the space where the group is inserted.
