Cassava is considered as one of the most important foods in the
diet, high consumption corresponds to high carbohydrate source. The objective
of this research was to evaluate the morphological characteristics of 15 clones of
macaxeira from the breeding program in the environmental conditions of the state
of Pará and to analyze the five clones that showed good productivity, ease of
peeling and adequate cooking time. The experiment was conducted in the
Tabocal community at km 27 of BR 163, Santarém, PA, located in the west of the
state, from May 2017 to June 2018. It is composed of 15 types of clones planted
in 9m lines, using 10 plants of each material, totalizing 150 plants, using the
spacing of 1 x 1 m. Sensory analysis was performed with 60 untrained testers,
using the hedonic scale and purchase intention as evaluation attributes. Data
were submitted to descriptive statistics using arithmetic mean and statistical
correlation. The clones presented a desirable agronomic performance, with clone
C8 with yield of 70.5 t ha-1, with high commercial root yield, number of roots,
plant height and shoot mass production. As for the sensorial analysis, the clone
C8 and C39 with greater acceptability by the tasters stands out, being the clone
C8 of greater approval in intention of purchase.
