O movimento da produção de limão Thaiti e sua repercussão geográfica no município de Monte Alegre - PA

Abstract

To apply theory and concepts, this work adopted as an area of empirical research observation the section of PA 254, in the municipality of Monte Alegre, where the greatest effort is concentrated. In this research, the main objective was to analyze the movement of Tahiti lemon citrus farming to identify and understand the geographic relationships within the production circuit. Likewise, it was the intention of this work to analyze how production is directly related to nature and how it can be understood through the appropriation of this relationship. It was also intended to analyze the spatial transformations of agricultural activity and the construction of production mediations. Likewise, identify and understand how social production occurs through the process of distribution, circulation and exchange of lemons in the municipality. Finally, understand how the exchange of Tahiti lemon is just one of the units of production in its entirety, but also the exchange of subjects. In this work, a qualitative approach was adopted. To obtain data, field research was carried out and for theoretical and conceptual basis, bibliographical research was carried out. During the course of this work, the results are presented, among which the main relationships established within the society-nature relationship that interrelate with the lemon production process, such as relief, climate, hydrography and soil, can be highlighted in the research. In addition to these assumptions, the work presents how the society-nature relationship conditions the land-work relationship that follows within the lemon production process, highlighting social production through the relationships of distribution, circulation and lemon exchange. Through these elucidations, we verified that the citrus distribution process begins within the nucleus of the peasant family, as well as the exchange process is framed as a stage of production encompassing different subjects (producer, middleman, industry) in addition to the exchange of activities production-serviceindustry that is carried out by peasants through the land-work relationship and is part of the production system of Citro Norte, where lemon-producing peasants are faced with countless difficulties that arise through financial issues, intensified by the presence of the middleman which within the commercialization process ends up reducing the income of peasant citrus activity.
