This paper aims to identify the perception of the Alternatives of the Technical
Course in Agriculture of the Rural Family House of Santarém, about the
agroecological practices developed in their production systems. This is a case
study using quali-quanti methodology. Data were collected through an open
questionnaire with questions related to the characteristics of family prodution
units, management practices and knowledge about Agroecology. Research has
shown that among the alternators there are different perceptions regarding the
Agroecology theme, as well as the understanding about agroecological
practices. Even though the understanding about Agroecology is not consensual
among young people, agroecological practices are in the daily life of family
production units, enabling agricultural activities with low environmental impact.
However, the need to discuss the theme within the school context is
emphasized as a way to encourage sustainable practices, contributing to the
strengthening of family agriculture and rural development.
