The work outlined here proposes to reflect on the jute weaving spinning company in Santarém, TECEJUTA. The company that worked in the processing of natural fibers such as jute, for the production of coffee sacks. It was a pioneer in the region and brought development to the Lower Amazon, exercising its functions for more than three decades. With the research, we moved through different scenarios such as the actions of Kotaro Tuji for the acclimatization of fiber in the Amazon, and Baixo Amazonas, as well as his political character in the negotiations of federal incentives for the implementation of TECEJUTA. The methodology of the work is based on the oral history carried out with a former employee of the factory, in a bibliographic review and historiographical analysis based on a magazine, and scientific articles, however, with limited bibliography related to the theme, which makes the research more ambitious. Authors such as Daniela Tristan, Lucio Flavio Pinto, Elivaldo Macedo, Régine Dhoquois, Scott William Hoefle and Edward Palmer Thompson, helped in this research.
