Studies with natural fiber bundles have been growing lately. This is because they are lightweight and resistant and mostly have a low cost of production and applications in various areas of industry. Given the natural fibers present in the literature, such as coconut, curacao and sisal, the present work aimed at the mechanical characterization of the fiber of the inajá epicarp (maximiliana maripa aublet) in which the tensile rupture property is the main means of comparison. different fiber measurements (30 mm, 35 mm and 40 mm) with a diameter of 0,40 mm, in an attempt to verify the difference in strength between the three measurements with the same load parameters. Results pointed to a rise in tension as the lengths of the fibrous bundles increased. However, regarding the modulus of elasticity, there was no statistical difference regarding the variation in length. Therefore, it was found that the beam length of 4 cm presents, therefore, greater tensile strength, which makes it possible to find several applications for this organic material in order to replace the synthetic fibers present in the market.
