Resumo
In the face of rapid technological change and irrational use of chemical components in agriculture, there is an urgent need to overcome social inequalities, the appropriation of nature as well as humanity and environmental injustices. Environmental education emerges as a coping instrument, making commitments in awakening the critical vision of the individual, as well as changes in behavior, values and attitudes, to environmental issues permanently and continuously. The present work aimed to know the profile of individual and family food consumption of students of the Carmem Valente da Silva Elementary School, in Jacareacanga-PA and to implement the agroecological garden in the school working the relationship of agroecology and healthy eating. To this end, a brief lecture was given about agroecological issues, emphasizing the importance of cultivating and consuming organic vegetables, for well-being and, consequently, in the learning process, through the school garden project. A questionnaire was applied to the students of the 5th and 6th grades of elementary school, in the morning and afternoon shifts, totaling 55 participants. For data tabulation, the Excel 2010 software was used to analyze the data by simple descriptive percentage statistics. The results show that most students demand the consumption of vegetables, but do not have this structure in the school environment.
