Floristic inventories are still scarce across the length of the Amazon forests, and therefore often insufficient for the understanding of the composition and distribution of Amazonian biodiversity, necessary foundation for the management and conservation of ecosystems. This study aimed to know the diversity and floristic distribution of a flooded forest in Suruacá community, located in the Extractive Reserve Tapajos-Arapiuns, municipality of Santarém. All trees with circumference at breast height greater than or equal to 31.4 cm were measured in plots of 20 x 50m, totaling 1.5 ha. It was found 560 individuals, distributed in 27 families and 75 species. Fabaceae and Lauraceae were the most important families in the stand. Shannon - Wiener (H`) and Pielou (J´) indexes for the area were 3.55 and 0, 82, respectively. The graph species x area of study has demonstrated the sample failure, which suggested the continuation of structural and floristic inventories in the region.
