Eficiência de chocadeiras artesanais sobre parâmetros de eclodibilidade de ovos
Abstract
Brazilian poultry currently has a growing development when it comes to production, in the 24 industry there are incubators with large egg capacity, with technology to automatically monitor all 25 factors influencing the development of chicks. However, these equipments are expensive and difficult 26 to access to smaller productions, not justifying such investment. However, the artisanal incubators, 27 despite the smaller incubation capacity, can reach good hatchability rates if well managed, besides the 28 lower cost. The study was developed aiming to evaluate the viability of two prototypes of automatic 29 alternative incubators, using free-range eggs. Conducted at the Animal Morphophysiology Laboratory 30 of the Animal Husbandry Sector. Federal University of Western Pará, Tapajós Campus, in the 31 municipality of Santarém - PA. Two types of handcrafted prototypes were used, standardized with 32 identical measurements (44.8cm X 24.8cm X 25.6cm). Two parameters were monitored during the 33 incubation period, temperature and humidity, at 3 hours, at 6h, 14h and 22h. Three experiments were 34 performed, 40 eggs were used in each experiment, with 20 eggs in each prototype, the eggs were 35 individually weighed before being inserted in the incubators, performing two ovoscopies on the 7th and 36 14th day, with a tolerance of two more days. for the birth of the laggard chicks. Styrofoam hatchers had 37 better hatchability rates when compared to wood hatchers, however hatcheries did not obtain adequate 38 indexes, requiring more experiments adjusting the possible inefficiency factors for total control of their 39 indexes.
