Resumen
The objective of the present work was to analyze how gender issues affect entrepreneurship in Brazil. The difficulties encountered by women, in a society that has prejudices and a predominantly male view of business, which generate a lack of credibility on top of women, in this way, it is necessary to understand what leads women to undertake and what are their greatest motivations, despite obstacles. The method used to solve the research problem was the Qualitative and exploratory method as a bibliographic survey. The present study showed that Brazil in recent years (2015 to 2019) has shown significant growth in relation to entrepreneurship, as well as a significant advance in the contribution of women to the economy, an increase in entrepreneurship by opportunity. In the years 2018 and 2019, there was an increase in the rates of initial entrepreneurs (TEA) and established entrepreneurship (TEE) for both males and females. The specific-efficiency rate was higher for male initial entrepreneurs (TEA) only in the 1st evaluation, while female initial entrepreneurs (TEA) stood out in the 2nd and 3rd evaluation. And in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd evaluation, the specific efficiency rate was higher for male established entrepreneurship (TEE) when compared to female (TEE). Opportunity entrepreneurship (TEO) for men was higher than for women, noting that female established entrepreneurship (TEE) remained very low in the three assessments. Despite observing stability and longer business survival period for males. It is worth mentioning the rise of female initial entrepreneurs, contributing to the development of the Brazilian economy by starting profitable activities, generating jobs and income, and gradually reducing the gender bias towards these activities. However, this is a broad topic where there is much to be studied. Thus, it is presented as a suggestion for future work the deepening of the study of entrepreneurship and gender prejudice, which could bring more results, and would serve as a comparison with the data obtained in this work. In addition, it is worth mentioning the contribution of this study on female entrepreneurship, bringing important results that contribute to a greater understanding of women who seek in entrepreneurship a way to develop professionally and to free themselves from the prejudices imposed by society.
