A saúde pública e saneamento básico: análise dos avanços, desafios e perspectivas da qualidade de vida da população residente no município de Santarém, Brasil
(Universidade Federal do Oeste do Pará, 2025-07-28) FERNANDES, Alejandro Pereira; HENRIQUE, Israel Nunes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3418821931567495; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-2127-5428
This dissertation analyzed public health and basic sanitation, focusing on their effects on quality of life and basic sanitation policies in the municipality of Santarém, in the state of Pará. Within the context of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), the research sought to understand how sanitation infrastructure impacted the quality of life of the local population. The methodology adopted was exploratory and descriptive, with a qualitative approach, developed in three phases. Initially, a systematic literature review was conducted using databases such as Web of Science, SciELO, and Scopus, with the descriptors "Basic sanitation AND Public health AND Quality of life AND Environmental health AND Water pollution." Subsequently, field data were collected through visits to critical areas of the city and sewage treatment plants, as well as analysis of data provided by the municipal government. Finally, the data were analyzed and compared with existing literature, supporting the development of this dissertation and scientific articles. The results, based on statistical data, public data, and research in the field, indicated that the fragility of the sanitation infrastructure contributed significantly to the incidence of diseases such as amoebiasis, diarrhea, Hepatitis A, and arboviruses, in addition to contributing to environmental degradation and the deepening of social inequalities. Based on the literature, the research also highlighted water contamination by fecal coliforms, the presence of Escherichia coli, total phosphorus pollution, and bacterial resistance in aquatic environments, compromising public health. It was also found that the precariousness of basic sanitation was exacerbated by disorderly urban growth, the lack of sewage treatment, and inadequate solid waste disposal. Thus, the data indicated that, despite the existence of an advanced legal framework, the effective implementation of sanitation policies in Santarém faced significant limitations. Rapid urbanization, lack of oversight, and low coverage rates of basic services have revealed the urgent need for more effective planning and integrated actions between public authorities, civil society, and research institutions to improve public health and quality of life policies.

The history of contemporary Brazilian funk can be analyzed through the career trajectory of the Brazilian artist Anitta. Accordingly, the primary objective of this study was to analyze Anitta’s musical and aesthetic contributions to the development of contemporary Brazilian funk between 2012 and 2024. The methodology employed was documentary and bibliographic research, utilizing three groups of sources spanning the 2012–2024 period: a) Group 1: Anitta’s artistic output—albums, singles, music videos, and projects; b) Group 2: interviews in which the artist discusses her own work and her presence within the funk genre; and c) Group 3: critical writings regarding Anitta’s work. To understand the development of contemporary Brazilian funk through the lens of Anitta’s career, the study drew upon the concept of the “coloniality of power and being” to examine the stigmatization and criminalization of funk as a form of Black culture. The research findings indicate that, since the start of her career in 2012, the Brazilian singer has contributed significantly to Brazilian popular music; her work has brought musical and aesthetic innovations to the pop/funk sector, both domestically and through the export of her music to the international stage.

Uma análise geográfica a partir do ensaísmo Brechtiano: o espetáculo Desimpério no teatro Iurupari
(Universidade Federal do Oeste do Pará, 2025) OLIVEIRA, André Fernando Farias; CAZULA, Leandro Pansonato; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4213222861038842
This work aims to create "bridges" between geography and theater, in order to dialogue with the construction and deconstruction of space, as well as its use and occupation. The research touches on the intersection between geography and theater, seeking to understand the dialectic imbricated in the text, by the German playwright Bertold Brecht, "The didactic play of Baden-Baden on the agreement (1929). The text received a theatrical adaptation at the youth and adult center of Teatro Iurupari, an extension and culture project at Ufopa in 2022, with the title "Desimpério", in which the language of epic theater manifested contributions to scientific work at the intersection with geographic science, in the face of social and epistemological issues. The monograph deals with questions about the use of the category of space, and the concepts of place and body, through which it is analyzed, through dialectical historical materialism, social phenomena and nuances of the ontological condition permeated by dialectical temporality in social contexts from the first half of the twentieth century to the present moment of the twenty-first century. Using the theories of "half-technical-scientific" and "half-technical-scientific-informational", by Milton Santos, and the aesthetic theory attributed to Marxist reflections, employed in the face of the corporeality of being in society, and its geosymbols that permeate places and time. Correlating geographical historical thinking with theatrical art, we will demonstrate that today's social environment, based on the capitalist mode of production and reproduction, hurts and removes the humanity of social beings, transforming them into beings willing to alienate totalitarian and neoliberalist regimes, with regard to the condition of work and the division of social classes.
