A literatura como estratégia de promoção da leitura na aldeia indígena Arimum

Abstract

This work presents the results of a research carried out in the Arimum Community/Aldeia, Rio Arapiuns, which aims to investigate the situation of how reading manifests itself in community education. In this way, we seek to identify how the awakening of interest in reading occurs in a distant place, involving both indigenous and non-indigenous people in the community, in the school context. For this, field research was used as a way of understanding the situation in which the students were inserted, managing to achieve the research objectives. The theoretical contribution of the work is based on the postulations of Freire (1994, 2006), Rodrigues and Ferreira (2016), Lajolo (1994), Silva (1995), Coll, Palacios & Marchesi (1995), etc. Classes were taught with a focus on reading and student participation, without neglecting the pedagogical approach that seeks to reconcile the natives' experiences with their traditions. The books used in the village were chosen to add value both internally and externally to the community, considering indigenous and non-indigenous students. Furthermore, the work identifies the parallel between studying and working to survive, which represents a challenge for immersion in a suitable school environment for students at Aldeia Arimum.
