Paga a tua conta, arigó: um olhar sobre a estigmatização social do cearense em Santarém

Abstract

The uses and the different senses that carry the category of the árigo, as well as the obstinacy of its use by the Santarenos to refer to Cearenses (or to those that are perceived as such), were the mastermind of this work. From this, it is intended to understand the relation of discourses between those of "outside" and those of "within": Cearenses and Santarenos; it is also intended to bring to the fore global conceptions that stigmatize the migrant, that is, that it is essential. Moreover, it is sought to analyze, from secondary or historiographic data, as well as to analyze in a diachronic way the triggering of such category through the first population movements for the Amazon region. And in a synchronic way it will understand the corollary of such a category, from the perspective of some theories about migration and social stigma. In order to obtain data, I used formal and informal interviews. In addition to these, I illustrate some examples with talks of random conversations with marked expressions that will help in the understanding of the objective of this work.
