O uso de fanfiction em aulas de inglês como língua adicional

Abstract

The use of technological resources in the classroom allows students and teachers to have more dynamic classes, while the content is being taught and learned. It also makes it possible to expand English language learning skills such as listening, speaking, reading, and writing. It is also relevant to point out that there are several applications and websites available in the virtual environment that have the attention of young people, therefore, reading and writing platforms are highly sought after as they are a way to democratize access to education and culture. Therefore, the research also indicated that in the educational context the Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and fanfiction are connected by understanding that fanfic typically happens within the technological realm and allows the sharing of information and communication among diverse individuals. Thus, the present study investigated, through qualitative research of an interpretative nature, through data generated from a single questionnaire with six subjective questions, to understand the use of fanfictions in English classes as an additional language from the perspective of young teachers in the city of Santarém in Pará. The results showed that fanfic can be used as an excellent incentive for students in their process of learning a new language, since it can stimulate reading, writing, and the formation of critical thinking that goes beyond traditional methodologies.
