Composição florística e estrutura fitossociológica dos fragmentos florestais da fazenda experimental da Universidade Federal do Oeste do Pará (UFOPA)

Abstract

Understanding the potential of forest ecosystems is essential to make it possible to select areas with better possibilities for use, lease infrastructure, and definition of activities to be developed. The objective of this study was to analyze the floristic composition and the phytosociological structure of the forest fragments of the Experimental Farm of UFOPA, from the sample inventory, aiming to know the vegetation, generate subsidies for the use planning of these areas and serve as a basis for future research. The farm has a forest area of 523 hectares, where 36 plots of 0.3 ha each were installed and 5 size classes (tree and regeneration) were inventoried. The vegetation presented 2,468 arboreal individuals distributed in 245 species and 54 botanical families. A stratification was carried out based on the amplitude of the volumetry of the arboreal stratum, stratum 2 was characterized by having a smaller size, however greater volumetry and heterogeneity between the plots. The Shannon - Wiener index (H') was high in both arboreal stratums. The results of the floristic composition and phytosociology of the vegetation studied exhibit a high floristic diversity in the arboreal component and species such as Jacaranda copaia, Laetia procera, Couratari stellata, and Onychopetalum amazonicum showed a great diversity of uses for timber purposes that can be used in the own experimental farm.
