“Senta e vamos conversar”: história de vida de Laurimar Leal e o contexto da “cultura” em Santarém entre 1970 e o início do século XXI

Abstract

To understand the juxtapositions of social contexts present in the culture produced in and to Santarém, in a cut of time between 1970 and 2000, from Laurimar Leal life story, a flagship artist in the system of relations with the culture in Santarém, was the focus for where to direct this work. The anthropology offers classic paths to achieve the structural studies of the order of nature and of culture, whether in contrasts or by glancing at associations (in more contemporary studies). However, it has fallen to the interest of this work to look to the other side. Just relations not contemplated by the study of structures. Therefore look to the speech or the narrative production from individual experiences. To know, in this sense, the life and work of this artist, Laurimar Leal, is taking a handful of information which give this work the shape which has. Thus, working with the life story, with oral reports, became the steps that outline the ethnographic method of this work. Through exercises routine identify the photographs of Laurimar and personal documents, which I described, patiently with details, due to their lack of vision, so that he could seek in their memory in that context was that image or document we were creating a bond that exceeded the apparent field thresholds between researcher and researched. They were, therefore, emerging issues, such as: what is the size of the subject in the construction of the collective and the dimension of the collective in the construction of the self in the subject? What is the function of the narrator in the text? How to reflect issues that involve memory, life story in the construction of a "culture" to Santarém? Where the public and the private mingle? It is, thus, that draws the set of relationships, interactions between people, institutions, policies and substances very revealing which indicate the context of cultural production of the city of Santarém in period portrayed here.
