Território e vida: arqueologia em contextos socioambientais no PAE Lago Grande

Abstract

The Amazon and its various traditional communities live a life of resistance in the face of the advance of capital and its infamous head of natural resources. Archaeological studies in the Amazon in general point to this region as a land densely occupied by several peoples in the past. PAE Lago Grande communities mostly deal with ceramic fragments, lithic materials and archaeological sites and landscapes creating relationships that often do not follow the logic of Archaeology. The research we bring here in this work comes to talk about these relationships of people and the things of the past, in a perspective of defense of the territory opting for the form of "buen vivir" in a region rich in natural resources, but with great situations of conflict that threaten its integrality as a collective territory. Under the concepts of public archaeology and collaborative archaeology, it seeks a better approximation of Archaeology with people in the sense of understanding and collaboration. With the support of the New Social Cartography project of the Amazon (PNCSA), we went to know in the field how these relationships of the people of the PAE and their archaeological materiality happen. The result was to bring a little more knowledge of the experiences of these communities, not as just another point lost on the map, but as something pulsating and dynamic, where relationships flow both with their archaeological materiality and with their socio-environmental context.
