A caracterização da personagem “Orminda” na obra Marajó de Dalcídio Jurandir

Abstract

The objective of this study is to present the traits and characteristics of the character Orminda in the narrative of the novel Marajó (1992) by Dalcídio Jurandir (1909-1979) and to classify her according to the parameters of the studies of Candido (2004) as a spherical character based on her actions in the narrative. Regarding the theoretical basis of this study, I discuss the theoretical conceptions of the studies related to the fictional character by the authors Moisés (1993), Candido (2004) and Brait (1985), and I present the traits and characteristics of the character Orminda in the novel Marajó (1992). The study is a bibliographical research, with a simple structure that presents the proposal for her classification as a spherical character, highlighting the importance of the aspects of the characterization of the character for the construction of the plot, in which it is noted that historical and social factors were decisive for the psychological construction of the character. This study also seeks to highlight Amazonian Literature and the author Dalcídio Jurandir, aiming at greater visibility of the author and his works.
