Assuming the principle that through activities that motivate and challenge students, the
learning process becomes easier, pleasurable and meaningful, this research presents
a methodological proposal for teaching Geometry, which consists of using folding in
triangles made of paper as a way to teach Notable Points of a Triangle. Thus, the
purpose of this work was to propose, apply and analyze this methodology as a way of
constructing concepts. Five activities were applied with students from the third grade
of high school of Frei Othmar School, in the municipality of Santarém-PA. The data for
analysis were collected from the researcher's field diary and the application of a
questionnaire with the participating students. Therefore, this research presents a report
of the experience lived by the researcher in the classroom and the students'
conceptions about the proposed activity. The main results show that the proposed
activity was useful and well accepted by the students. Its use made it possible for
students to reflect on the mistakes made and learn with them.
