Sistemas de numeração: registro de uma experiência em clubes de matemática
Abstract
This paper aims to present and systematize the records of the activity entitled Numbering
Systems developed in the years 2015 to 2018 by PIBID fellows at the Laboratory of
Mathematical Applications-Lapmat, at the Federal University of Western Pará-Ufopa. Having
as main references the master dissertation of RODRIGUES (2013) and the book by Georges
Ifrah (2005), in which is made a historical contextualization about the main Numbering Systems
used by great civilizations in the past. It also discusses the main properties of Positional Systems
as well as its advantages over other systems. The experiences of the author and other fellows
active in the project from 2015 to 2018 are also discussed regarding its application with students
of 9th grade of elementary school and 1st grade of public schools in the city of Santarém-PA.
These experiences were recorded in the reports of the fellows who worked in the activity during
the years in which it was applied under the Mathematics Clubs project. Finally, the author
highlights the importance of fostering projects aimed at teaching practice since the early years
of the academy.
