The objective of this study was to detect the difficulties of the students of the first year of high
school regarding the learning of the contents of physics given by the State High School
Pretextato of Costa Alvarenga in the municipality of Prainha - PA, to identify the difficulties of
the students, did the use of questionnaires with closed questions was necessary so that the
students, teachers and technicians could expose the obstacles found in this school stage.
The teaching of physics in the first year of high school has been a serious problem in the
State High School Pretextato of Costa Alvarenga, so the need for this research so that
together with teachers and technical staff find possible solutions, to mitigate this problem,
through teacher training and research conditions for students. In this context a survey was
made to identify if these difficulties are related to solving formulas, or if the student did not
study the content in elementary education. The objectives of this research, therefore, are to
investigate the reason why students have difficulty learning physics in the first year of high
school. The aim is to stimulate students through resources to research the contents of
Physics in the day-to-day applications and also to clarify to students the importance that
exists in learning physics not only in school but also in everyday life. The survey was
conducted through questionnaires and the results of the research presented through graphs
and tables.
